On September the 22nd, I was dashing around Birmingham City Centre searching for the fibreglass owls that make up The Big Hoot trail. One I found was number 25: Yellow by Glenn Anderson on the roof at the Custard Factory. This was the only owl that was inaccessable as there was no lift going up to the rooftop leaving me, and other owl spotters, a little bit miffed. It was impossible to get a better photograph than this one without a zoom lens, but my glimpse from afar and this owls name suggests that it was merely plain yellow and therfore not very photogenic. This snapshot is proof that I saw all 89 owls in their temporary habitat of Birmingham. It is still not too late to sponsor me for completing this brilliantly daft challenge and to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Glenn Anderson is a Birmingham art legend, who sites ‘places, adventures, discovery, and the five+ sensory emotions’ as examples of the inspiration for his work.
